yeah..I think I read that his church is the biggest in America. I'm really ashamed I never heard of him before!

I just went to Joyce Meyer's sight, thanks for the link. I just ordered The Secret to True Happiness.

Have a great weekend...stay warm!

I too don't find myself believing much in the ways of standard religion...I think that what ever relationship you have to the Church or God is a personal journey and whichever path you choose, as long as it brings you inner peace and fulfillment then it is the right one. Just let me know when the Church of Sunnee will be opening and I'll be first in line. :)

Hey girl, sounds like you were involved in religion, not faith. Faith in God, faith in Jesus...this is much different then being scared as a child through unexamined comments made by adults. Yes we all sin, we all fall short. That's the whole story of Jesus' sacrifice and why He did it for us. It's not an easy message, and we must be diligent, but we're not going to lose grace because we "pee in the pool".

I've heard Joel Osteen is one of these "Name it and claim it" types. Meaning that he says if your faith in God is strong enough, then you'll have happiness and wealth (I may be mistaken but a couple folks have told me this). There is absolutely no guarantee that we'll be happy if we have faith in God. We have joy, but often that joy is felt in the midst of difficult circumstances. Difficult times refine us, refine our faith, but they are still difficult and sometimes truly awful. It's how we use that faith that gets us through or doesn't. Joy and happiness are very different also. Give me a call...
