i dont think anyone really reads this anymore. but for those of u bored stragglers that still do, this post is for u =)
so i auditioned for the ucsc symphony orchestra the other day and played terribly, but i still made it in so yay, go me. at first things were a bit stressful here for me, but its getting really great. honestly, i think i made myself stressed out because i was scared, but now that things r settling, i can enjoy how absolutely gorgeous it is here.
so comparisons between davis and santa cruz:
davis the town was much smaller and more suburban, which i kinda liked because part of downtown here reminds me of the ugly parts of the valley and there are lots of bums here, which makes me sad and scared. then again there's much more to do here because its not suburban, and at davis, u would have to go to sacramento for anything fun besides frats and sororities
davis was easier to get around because its flat and i dont have my bike here because im sick of it from riding it all year at davis. and although it was easier to get around, i like the massive hills here, they make for much more interesting landscape.
also, parking was a million times easier at davis. i have to park my car in an off-campus lot and pay for a permit here. lame.

there's definently a different student body here. at davis, the students were much more serious, not that excited to be where they were (mostly berkeley rejects), very jocky, and not very friendly. here, people are more light hearted and laid back, definently friendlier, and u see people travel in groups here, whereas at davis honestly, that was a rare sight. also, there are a lot more kids here from socal. at davis, most of my friends were from central or norcal.
so its pretty exciting to be here. i live in an apartment on campus, which is very convenient. i have my own room again, with 3 other girls and they all have their own rooms. vicky is from England, and linse and kathy are both from la area, so that's cool. theyre all older than me though because theyre transfer students and well, im the only sophomore transfer that i know of. so ya, its also awesome to have my own room again and be away from my nagging father.
