Kevin and Hyungsik’s first meeting was a complete mistake. While Hyungsik was trying to get a book from the top shelf at the library, Kevin just so happened to be passing by, so when Hyungsik pulled it out forcefully and fell backwards, he didn’t think something-or someone-would cushion his fall. The taller one quickly helped the other up and apologized before slipping away hurriedly into another section of the library.
The second time, Hyungsik thought, might have been just another simple accident. While he was picking up his coffee from the counter of one of his favourite coffee shop, he turned around a little too hastily and imprudently, because the next thing he knew, his hot coffee was all over the person standing in back of him. He gasped and apologized and tried to wipe off the liquid from the stranger’s white t-shirt but soon realized, oh damn, I’m just spreading the stain. He finally decided to look at the victim of his clumsiness and was completely flabbergasted to see the male he from the library. He lowered his head, embarrassed, guilty, unable to utter anything other than “sorry” and “forgive me”, and just as rapidly as their first meeting left the coffee shop.
The third time, Hyungsik saw Kevin at the mall and thought, oh man, not him again, I’ll need to be more careful and more importantly avoid him at all costs. He knew it would be important to, as to not further embarrass himself for a third time. Though, what he didn’t know was that Kevin was a few steps ahead of him. While Hyungsik was browsing through the wide variety of underwear in a store, Kevin came and pretended to be an employee. “Do you need any help?” he had asked, and Hyungsik, not really paying too much attention to anything other than the wide array of colors, shapes and sizes, answered with a “Yes, I can’t find anything nice.” Kevin emitted a stifled laugh and replied with an “I personally think T-panties are the best choice for someone like you.” When Hyungsik turned around to ask if he was serious and saw that bright, somewhat cheeky-looking smile and gazed into the man’s deep, charismatic brown eyes, he thought, oh, maybe we're fated.
The fourth time, it was a planned meeting. After hanging out and exchanging phone numbers and e-mail addresses on their third encounter, they decided to set up something simple as to get to know each other better. (He had told all his close friends about Kevin and the upcoming ; some teased him ("Hyungsik has a date!", "Hyungsik's going to get some tonight, keke." were examples he deemed 'inappropriate' and 'ridiculous'; he was only going out with a new friend) and some encouraged him wholeheartedly.) They had agreed to meet at the coffee shop from the second time, to make it 'special' Kevin said, and discuss things over a nice, hot cup of coffee. Hyungsik, although excited to see his friend again, was feeling nervous for some odd reason. He waited at the entrance of the place, swinging his body from front to back and back to front, while looking around to see if Kevin was coming any time soon. After a few minutes, he stopped to wonder what was taking him so long. He turned to the left to check if anybody was coming and as he was about to turn right, he felt strong arms wrap around his waist. His head moved to the right and his eyes met Kevin's, soft and loving. "Sorry I'm late," he said in a whisper. The younger male could feel his face start to burn. He quickly detached himself from the other's arms and rushed into the coffee shop, embarrassed. Kevin laughed and dug his hands into his jeans pockets.
"Maybe it's destiny."
