To all Canadians, Happy Canada Day! And a lovely Friday to everyone else. Except Gary Brodsky.

Anywho, I've been meaning to put together a list of songs I'd love to see performed on Glee. Note: this might be a wee bit Kurt-heavy, but when is that a bad thing?

SOLO SONGS:

How to Save a Life by The Fray
Sung by - Artie Abrams
Everytime I hear this song, I think of how wonderfully it would fit Kevin McHale's voice and can picture him slowly wheeling himself through McKinley's halls in melancholy as he sings. Think of the angsty possibilities of this song! My personal favorite is Kurt being gay-bashed and in the hospital while the doctors aren't sure if he'll make it(of course he will!).

Out Tonight by The Cast of RENT
Sung by - Santana Lopez
Do I really need to explain this one?

Take It All by Marion Cotillard in the movie Nine(Only watch this movie for the musical numbers. Actually, just watch the musical numbers on Youtube. This film has what has got to be one of the least sympathetic protagonists ever.)
Sung by - Kurt Hummel
If they make Klaine break up on the show, Kurt must sing this song! I picture it taking place in a mall as a kind of throwback to the Gap Attack, with Kurt singing and growling at cheater!Blaine while random guys suddenly realize Kurt's hotness and are pawing at him. This is probably the least likely scenario I've come up with (Blaine as a bad guy?)

The Role Of A Life Time by Matt Doyle (Cast of BARE: A Pop Opera)
Sung by - Kurt Hummel
I don't care how, this must happen.

Don't Speak by No Doubt
Sung by - Quinn Fabray
Why do I want this good song sung by one of my least favorite characters?(seriously, Quinn has never been a favorite of mine but in the second half of season two watching her had just become a CHORE!) Because I see this song being taken out of context and used not to talk about cheating but about baby!Beth! Remember her? The way I picture it, Puck (for some reason) brings up Beth and how he still misses her and Quinn retaliates by singing this song, showing that her behaviour last season was an effort to ignore the pain of giving up her child by pretending it never happened. It might make me at least begin to sympathize with Qinn again.

Wild Horses by Natasha Beddingfield
Sung by - Tina Cohen-Chang
Please give Tina a song without having it ruined by emotions/out of range notes/hecklers! We now from the group numbers that Tina has a great voice, while not nearly as powerful as Mercedes or Rachel's it's definately stronger than Quinn's. This song would be nice to show that Tina is still holding herself back because of her fear as well as being shy while wishing she could be as out going as her fellow gleeks. Would be nice to hear in that Tina-centric episode that'll probably never happen, wouldn't it?

Nothing But a Song by Great Big Sea(saw them live today!)
Sung by - Finn Hudson
Maybe it's the Canadian Pride of July first that's going to my mind, wanting a Canadian actor singing a song by on of Canada's most succesful bands, but I would love this. The song is about family, but mainly brotherhood and fraternity. Finn singing this to Kurt on their parents' first wedding aniversary would go a long ways to making me like the character again.

All Summer Long by Kid Rock
Sung by - Noah Puckerman
Come on! SUCH a Puck song.

Last Kiss (Oh Where Oh Where Can My Baby Be?) covered by Pearl Jam (originally by Frank Wilson)
Sung by - Noah Puckerman
And we do a complete 180! Like with Quinn's song, I think of this being used out of context as an ode to Beth and how he misses her. It would be quite fitting if we take the chorus literally (Oh where oh where can my baby be?). Of course it would make most sense if she died, but my poor little heart couldn't handle that! Not a perfect fit, but at least it would be lovely when sung by Puck. It could be like Kiss's Beth 2.0

Changes by David Bowie
Sung by - Sam Evans
Let's close our eyes for a moment and imagine an episode centered around Mr. Bowie's music and having him guest star. I think this song would be perfect for Sam, poor boy's had a rough year what with moving, switching from a boarding school to a public one, self-image issues, popularity woes, girlfriend drama and a family in crisis, he deserves a Bowie song.

Here In Your Arms by Hello Goodbye
Sung (and danced!) by - Mike Chang
And now I'm just having fun ;). Think of a Sprite commercial.

Grenade by Bruno Mars
Sung by - Dave Karofsky(what?)
I love Dave. He was probably the most fascinating character in season two. He and Kurt will most likely not end up together on the show, but I think his pining could be shown. That and I really want to hear Max Adler's voice.

I wasn't that inspired for Mercedes, Rachel or Brittany as far as solos go, to be honest.

DUETS:

Let It Be by The Beatles
Sung by - Kurt Hummel/Mercedes Jones
They would kill it. End of story.

Lay All Your Love On Me by ABBA (the Mamma Mia! arrangement)
Sung by - Blaine Anderson/Kurt Hummel
... it could be cute. My OTP is Kurt/happiness.

Hold My Hand by Akon feat. Michael Jackson
Sung by - Sam Evans feat. Artie Abrams
Okay, my head says that Sam is in love with Kurt and sings this to him during glee to show that he is willing to come out of the closet so he can hold Kurt's hand wherever and whenever he wants. Yes I am still holding out hope for gay!Sam.

Schadenfreude! by the Cast of Avenue Q
Sung by - Kurt Hummel/Artie Abrams
I've been wanting a duet with Kurt and artie forever! This would just be so much fun!

Are You There? by the Cast of BARE: A Pop Opera
Sung by - Kurt Hummel/Artie Abrams or Kurt Hummel/Sam Evans
A song about the questions of Faith and a duet between two boys. Kurt obviously has Peter's part, where he questions his relationship with a seemingly perfect boy and God, though for the faith part I do see Kurt having a more scientific view than Peter: he's asking about how his friends can put so much faith into something he doesn't believe in at all. With the role of Matt, I see either Artie or Sam. Artie, because he was the only boy (at the time) in glee who did not explicitly state his religious beliefs (except Mike but I really don't see him here) and Sam because... I really want he and Kurt to duet.

GROUP SONGS:

I Feel Like a Woman by Shania Twain
Sung by - The Girls of New Directions
Girl POWER!

Good Vibrations by the Beach Boys
Sung by - The Warblers
Glee had a male acapella choir for most of the season and they didn't sing one freakin' Beach Boys song?! What's wrong with these guys?

Under Pressure by Queen feat. David Bowie
Sung by - the New Directions
Best. Song. Ever.

I Believe In A Thing Called Love by The Darkness
Sung by - the New Directions
No philosohy here. Just fun.

Dance, Magic Dance by David Bowie
Sung by - the New Directions
yes. just yes.

And that's my list! Hope you enjoyed my selections.
