It's officially summer: I have no idea what day it is

Jun 18, 2011 01:54

Wednesday felt like Thrusday, Thursday felt like Wednesday, and today felt like Saturday.

Few things, first off: not even Chuck Norris could survive the DMV. That place is the innermost circle of Hell. Times fifty.

Summary of my Thursday:
9:30--Take my car to the dealer for an oil change and a check on a part that was recalled. Dad picks me up since his office is just down the street and we have a nice breakfast at Waffle House. Head back to his office where I sketch while I wait.
10:50ish--Pick up my car. Get gas. Coolant light comes on on the Dashboard. Crap. Go back to VW. (I drive a blue beetle. Named Lulu :3) I should mention at this point that I left my cell phone at home.
11-1--Eventually, it is discovered that there's a leak in a pipe in the water pump, and the whole thing will have to be replaced, but they have to order the part and it won't be here untill Monday. I call Mom on their phone to tell her why I'm not home yet. Go to pay for the part they ordered, thinking that my car will be okay to get me home and back here Monday. Return to service desk to find the guy on the phone with Dad. He doesn't want me driving my car, but they'll pay for me to get a rental. Sweet.
Lady from Enterprise down the street comes to pick me up. We get to Enterprise. I show them my license.

Cue an already crappy day hitting the fan.

Even though I'm two months from twenty and I've had my license for two and half years so technically I'm not really a 'restricted' driver anymore, my license still says "Intermediate Restricted License" because they never tell you about the whole 'updating' it thing. I always assumed that was automatic. Apparently not. So the rental people will take me to the DMV to get my license updated and then pick me up when I'm done.
1:45--get my number at the DMV.
Two hours later--I get my new license. The actual updating takes 5 minutes. What. The. Hell. is wrong with this system?
Use a payphone to tell Mom I'm still alive and call Enterprise to get picked up. Finally get a rental. Go home. Weep.

But then the day improves a bit.April calls me and tells me that our application was accepted for the Artist's Alley at a anime convention in Chattanooga in November. So we'll be sharing a table there. YAY! So now I'm even more dedicated to my artistic bootcamp. We've got plenty of time to prepare, which is good, because we'll need it.
I've got more sketches to share. Three characters from my book.

(None of these images may be used in anyway without my permission.)

Alice and James' frontal view were done Thrusday, James' profile and Natalie were done today. I made up a handwriting for each of them to use labeling their names. I feel like handwriting can say a lot about someone's personality. (they're also labeled with my handwriting.
Still not sure how to best draw James' hair. In my head it's kind of a cross between David Tennant, Roxas, and this guy I went to high school with.

Things making me happy this week:
Guess what came in the mail today?

My reaction:

I'm so weird.

Disapproving Rabbits disapprove of your general existence.

This kid is too adorable. Someone get him a tv show and an Oscar. And a fez.

Beat Atlantica in KH1 without feeing the need to kill someone/myself/the PS2.
