update
Wow it's been a while since I updated. I feel bad that I hardly ever update anymore. Let's see...
Two weeks ago, my grandma turned 80. She wanted to go all out and have a big party. It ended up being somewhat of a family reunion for us too, as I got to see some of my family that I haven't seen for 2-5 years, and some that I had never met (2 baby cousins). My parents came up a few days before and spent a day with me before going on up to Jax. I couldn't get any time off of work so I headed up there after work on Saturday. The party itself was that night, at an oldies bar. We later ended up at Denny's, having midnight breakfast. That was quite an experience... I never realized how crazy some of my relatives could be, lol. Sunday morning we had breakfast all over again, at a little down-home diner. After breakfast we hung out at my aunt's house for a few hours, then traveled out to the cemetery where my grandpa and uncle are buried. After that, my parents and I headed back home. I had to go to work again on Monday, but luckily had Tuesday off to recover from my vacation, lol. Overall, it was a really fun weekend, even though it was way too short. Between mom and I, we took about 400 pictures. I've been meaning to post pictures from that weekend ever since. I finally uploaded them, just haven't posted any yet. Hopefully I can manage to be productive on my day off tomorrow.
Last week my friend Jen was in town doing some training for her new company, so I got to spend some time with her. Haven't seen her in probably 2 years I think, because the last time she was in town I was in my old old apartment! We went to Smokey Bones for dinner then just hung out back at her (super-nice) hotel room for a few hours. Nothing exciting, but it doesn't matter; we had fun catching up and reminiscing about high school, hahah.
This past Saturday, Keith, Yeny, KC, Kris and I went ice skating. Tons of fun :) My feet were killing me even worse than the last time we went in December, but I survived. I also didn't fall, which is always good. And Yeny managed to go around quite a few times before she fell, which was a big improvement from last time. Afterward, we went back to my place and had pizza and sat out on the balcony for a few hours, then played Battle of the Sexes. I'm pretty sure the girls won, hehe. Of course, it was 3 to 2, but the boys did put up a good fight. We stayed up pretty late. I ended up sleeping in til about 3pm on Sunday.
I've made it through 5 hours of my shift today with no angry customers. That's pretty good. It's also been a slow day... no one holding so far. All I can say is, it better stay like this. Monday and Tuesday were horrendous. I can't wait for my day off tomorrow.
