I'm having trouble remembering all the information my history proffessor is throwing at as. Stuff about Africa, China, Japan, Islam...it's all getting jumbled around in my head. And there's just so much of it. Anyhow, in order to better retain the massive amount of information in the readings, she suggests taking notes as we read. I think that this would cause reading 50 pages of history into a five hour fiasco. As if it doesn't consume enough of my time! So I sought out a better solution, asking the TA and other upper classmen and history majors, what they do to absorbe what they read. Here are my favourite 3 responses:
- I make a movie in my head as I read. I know it sounds wierd but it works, cuz I'm just a very visual person. When a question pops up on the test, I just replay the parts of the movie that I need.
- I cram my brain full of everything right before I go to bed, and then my subconsious seals it in when I'm alseep.
- Blaze before. See, when you're high, you kill your short term memory, so all that's left is your long term , right? So whatever you read skips your short term memory and lands in your long term and viola, there it is when you're taking a test. And the reading is kinda fun then, too.
