- RECAP
- Naoto explains how Naruse is Manaka to the chief while running
- Contrast between running Naoto and walking Naruse is great
- Souda is dragged kicking and screaming... only to find Kasai beside Osumi. Souda is beaten within an inch of his life while Kasai watches -- but eventually turns away. I have to admit, it was painful watching Souda get kicked and bruised and begging Kasai to help him while Kasai looks conflicted on the side. It's like watching an accident, you know it's gruesome but you can't keep your eyes off of it.
When one of the men grabbed a pole, I think Kasai sort of snapped because he said 'Please stop.'. But the guy didn't stop. As he was about to beat Kasai with the pole, Kasai finally snapped and screamed 'STOP!'. The man stopped in mid-strike.
Souda was screaming his head-off 'Help me, please!' with his whole face bloodied. Tentatively, Kasai walked over to Osumi saying 'It's alright now.' or 'That was enough.'
I do not understand the exchange, although I think Kasai said that he would give the last blow.
- Naoto arrives at Naruse's office and bangs on the door.
- Souda: 'Aren't we friends?!' They talk some then Kasai walks away. Naoto calls someone (Kasai?) and informs him of Naruse's true identity.
- Kasai & Mari meet, talk. (Dunno about what, but as usual Mari was anxious)
- Someone's footsteps echo inside the warehouse, Souda looks up to find Nii-san. Souda tries to cover his ass, and tells Nii-san about Kasai. Nii-san offers Souda a cigarette. After one drag, Souda drops the cigarette on the floor grabbing his throat. And we see Nii-san's evil smirk.
Once Souda stopped breathing, Nii-san grabs the incriminating photo from Souda's pocket and crushes it with his hand. He stands up to leave, (unknowingly?) dropping a red pen behind.
- Kasai & Mari. Mari thanks Kasai, for everything (I guess?) then bids him 'Good night'. Kasai answers: 'Good night, ma'am.' (Even though I wanted them to crash and burn, this scene was still painful.)
- Naoto receives a phone call. Inside the warehouse, Ryo is holding Souda's phone. Naotoo goes all frantic when Souda doesn't answer. Ryo takes the pen briefly before putting it nearer to the body.
Naoto freezes up when he hears the footsteps on the other end.
- The chief figured out where Souda is, called Naoto, Naoto rushed to the warehouse. He sees Souda's battered face and cries. Naoto breathes out: "Amano"
- Ryo crosses out Souda's picture inside the red room.
- Ryo receives a phone call from Naoto. I think Naoto declared that he now understands.
- Ryo walks to meet Naoto (in that alley). Naoto punches Ryo in the face. Even with a bloody lip, Ryo's face is unreadable.
Naoto says something like, 'You really are Hideo's brother, aren't you? You are Amano Makato, aren't you?'
Ryo replies coolly with something like, 'I am Manaka Tomoo. I am Amano Makato.'
(Ohgahds I hope I understood that correctly. orz)
- OPENING SEQUENCE. GADDEMIT WHY SO GOOD?!
- Ryo says something that finally snaps Naoto. Naoto grabs Ryo's shirt (much like how Nino did) and screams.
Naoto: "Stop fucking with me!" (Of course 'fucking' was for effect on my part. That's how I interpret the word so that it comes out with the emotion attached to it.)
Naoto enumerated the people Ryo killed, he then pushes Ryo off. Ryo calmly fixes his suit and faces Naoto again.
I think Ryo explained why he's killed all those people, that it's because of Hideo.
Naoto tears up and asks why Ryo just won't kill him instead.
They exchanged a few more, until Ryo finally tells Naoto to catch him. (GAHDS, ASS PEOPLE ASS!)
- Ryo returns to the red room. Ryo: 'So, it's finally here, huh?'
- I think the chief breached the issue of Ryo being the mastermind to the higher-up guy. The chief declares his trust on Naoto.
- Shiori pieces the fragments of her interaction with Ryo to make sense of the last image she got. She finally realizes that Ryo really is Tomoo. She asks a question, then weeps. (Shiori shouldn't be crying. TT^TT) Her friend asks her what wrong, and Shiori just runs up to cry on her friend's shoulder.
- Ryo glances at all the crossed pictures. Finally resting his eyes on Shiori.
- Shiori stands in the middle of a road. Flashing back on the time Tomoo gave her an umbrella.
- I think they found a lead in Souda's case. (hyaku-gatsu? 100.. what is gatsu!? What kind of counter? Fine. I give up.) They discovered the tarot card on Souda, same as the one with Naoto. Finally, the pen was shown to Naoto. He sees the engraving.
- Nii-san and Kasai interacts. Kasai greets Nii-san with a 'good work' since he just returned from his trip. Nii-san says Kasai did a good job. The two of them enter the main room, and Eisaku welcomes Nii-san with a 'good work' too.
- Naoto barges in the room, the three freeze to look.
Eisaku: What is this about?
Naoto: Souda is dead.
Kasai: Dead?
Naoto: He was killed.
Eisaku: (I think he's defending himself, like he's got nothing to do with it or something)
Naoto: *grabs pen from his pocket -- walks over to Kasai & Nii-san* Understand? *hands it to Kasai, showing the engraving*
Naoto escorts Kasai out of the room
Kasai: I didn't do it! I didn't kill Souda!
Naoto: Kasai, I believe you. (But I think they still had to take him away because... evidence.)
*Mari walks*
Mari: Kasai-kun?
Kasai turns away, and is escorted by Kaouru. Naoto follows behind.
Nii-san: He's a suspect for killing Souda.
Mari: O_O
Nii-san: *satisfied smirk -- flashes back to scene where he drops pen*
Eisaku and Nii-san talk about the repurcussions of the evidence against Kasai.
- Kasai: It wasn't me. Really!
Chief asks him some more. Eventually asking him for an alibi. Of course he can't give one, or Mari will get involved. But he lies and says that he was driving alone, and that no one knows.
- Kaouru walks in... with Ryo.
Ryo: I'm Kasai-san's lawyer. (OHGOD EPIC!)
- Naoto asks why Ryo was representing Kasai
Ryo: I am your father's legal adviser
Naoto angrily retorts (I think he's saying that Ryo is the reason why Kasai is mixed in this mess in the first place? But that's just me assuming things.)
- Investigators raid Kasai's flat. Naoto stares at a picture of them back in high school. Naoto flashes back to Yosuke's death, Souda's death and Kasai under investigation. Kaoru walks over and hands a picture she found in Souda's bag. A picture of Mari and his brother.
- Naoto presents the picture to his brother and asks why Souda has a copy of that picture.
Nii-san fidgets on his seat. (Gotta be careful, or the adultery issue will be out of his hands.)
Nii-san asks something about the picture, Naoto says yes. (I think that was if the picture was going to be used as evidence?)
Nii-san: I do not know. (Why Souda has that picture)
Office-room is also raided by investigators.
Eisaku is obviously pissed, but ends up sort-of reprimanding Naoto. And I think it ended with Eisaku declaring he's got nothing to do with Naoto.
- One of the investigators walks up to Naoto and shows him a tube. (What was that?!)
- Investigators huddle around the chief listening to instructions/briefing/de-breifing
- Ryo walks in, and confirms what he just heard. (What the chief just said about Kasai.) Ryo says something then walks away serenely.
- Naoto runs after him and grabs him by the shoulder.... bows down and says that it was his fault. Naoto drops to his knees ang asks Ryo to just take it on him and help Kasai.
Ryo talks about what's in Naoto's heart, and an important person, and trust.
Naoto stays on his knees, shell-shocked.
- Ryo returns to his office to find Shiori outside the door. She says something about 'For Naruse-san's sake'. Cries.
Shiori: "Please stop already, Tomoo-san! Aren't you a really kind/gentle/sweet person? 11 years ago, you kindly gave me your umbrella!"
Ryo: (I think he said something about not being able to stop.) *walks inside his office*
Shiori: *cry*
Ryo: *cry*
- Naoto: Trusting?
*Shiori walks in and says something to Naoto*
Naoto puts the tarot card in font of Shiori for her to look at
She "looks" and declares that she saw a picture of two people.
Naoto grabs the picture of Mari & his brother, asks her if that was the picture.
Shiori says that's not it, but the girl was in the picture and another guy.
Naoto asks her to describe the guy.
She says something then... glasses. Then points to Kasai's mug-shot.
- I think Naoto finally realized the connection. And that Kasai was protecting someone.
- Yamano is looking at a picture of Nii-san leaving the warehouse. *gasp* (I knew it!)
- Naoto confronts Kasai and says that it was about Mari, wasn't it? But Kasai refused to speak.
Naoto: (So Souda discovered what was between you and Mari.)
Kasai: No. That's not it.
Naoto: (That's why you're lying? For Mari's sake?)
Kasai breaks down.
- Ryo stares at their picture and declares that everything is about to end.
Episode 7 is still the best episode, for me. But the convoluted plot in this episode is GENIUS.
