Yes, oh so fun

So Saturday the Greg threw us all a party, which was totally fun. Yesterday I spent the day exploring the Manor and surrounding gardens. Amanda, Katie, and I took so many pictures. But we're really dumb, cuz we took this really long pathway to get to the gardens, and it was freakin' long and arduous. Then we realized the conservatory was open and we coulda walked through there. Oh well though. We went to a reflecting pool where there was a swam grooming itself in the middle, and I went up to talk to it, but found myself surrounded by ducks. They started quacking as I got nearer, so I sat down so as not to intimidate them, and guess what happened? I TOTALLY sat down and placed my hands right into duck crap!! Yucky! It was totally gross.

Let's see, I actually went into Grantham the other day, and it's a really nice town. Found an awesome cd store that has really old, rare, and imported cds and records. It's super exciting. I hung out a bit with Martin and Matt Hall, too.

Today we started classes. I'm soooo excited for my music class. It was really fun today, and the teacher wants to start up a small ensemble so hopefully I'll be borrowing a French horn from a local music shop. I'll get to play afterall!! Yay!! British Studies is gonna be a bitch though, cuz freakin' there's sooooo much reading. First we have a big long lecture, with all the students at Harlaxton, then we break off in to smaller groups for the seminar portion. The big lecture isn't so bad though, cuz I have Katie and Amanda to be amused. But yeah, it's pretty kewl.

I'm going to London this weekend, and totally can't wait! Yay!

Let's see, the food here really is bland. I mean, I feel hungry all the time cuz the portions are smaller of course (which is probably a good thing) but not only that, I don't eat hardly any of the food. Oi, the other night this girl got super smart and put cheese on this really fantastic bread (which is unusual) and toasted it. Well, I think the food of choice that night was dried out turkey, day potatoes that tasted like mint, and overcooked really mushy brussel sprouts. Needless to say, I went for the bread and cheese, although the cheese is a bit odd....I also ate a banana. It was scrumptious.

I swear, the English like don't have ice or something, because I haven't dranken anything with ice since I've been here. There's no bloody ice machine!!! Oi.
