The catch-word(s) phrase at work is ".. is what you're doing .. VALUE ADDED to the business .. " At first I thought it was some hokey biz talk, but the more I think about it, I see that it's actually a concept that I should be applying to my life outside of work. Everything I do should have value and not be a waste of my time.
I've started applying this to my Reorg Phases..
1. I came up with a 2004 financial budget
2. I am slowly re-orienting my brain to think about the value I'll get based on the decisions I make.. for example, something as simple as deciding whether to dine out or make something at home..
This will also most certainly apply to going out to drink, party, sex, shop.. you name it.. the question in my head will be.. does it add some kind of value to me, for me, and for the person I am with. With school starting soon I need to be concious of my time and concious of what the consequences are if I end up wasting that time.
This is not to say I can't be flexible, but at first I'm probably going to need to be more hard edged than ever. But again, this comes back to the issue of money. For sure many things to discuss with my therapist.. as I can already begin seeing how my money issues cloud many of the things I do and don't do..
