i got into a slight bit of trouble at the office today, nothing to get fired over; but an oops never-the-less. The good thing about it was I was able to bullshit my way outa the problem. It started out yesterday actually. I was posting some rejected-funds back into an account and had to make a notification to the internal party that initiated the wire transfer. I inadvertently (and cause it was busy as hell) notified the wrong group. These two groups use the same wash account that the money flows through (which is where I posted it to) The trouble part came when bitchy Jane who I've worked with since my Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi days decided to make a big dramatic deal over the fact that I notified the wrong group. She asked all kinds of questions that I knew she already had the answers for because she knows how to work the investigative tool to send inquiries. She's always been a kiss ass and making sure she documented my error must've been a big high point of her day. The good part comes in when I was able to play off the notification business on the account of we 1. hardly ever get reject-funds for this account 2. the tip sheet for where notifications are sent to is not clear in this regards (which is a boon to me because I get to write the tip sheets hehe) and 3. I was able to solidly convince the boss that it was a very simple oversight and that I could correct it rather quickly.
So yes, an overly dramatic bitchy person was shot down again. Even my boss said the subsequent emails were written up to make it look like I was a shit ass employee, but she didn't think anything of it.. and we all went on our merry ways.
