So Today I am out with Maurice learning how to assemble the GPS stations so that I can do my roving kinematic surveys. And it was going great, we get the tripod in the ground, level, and finish plugging in the wires just as the dark sky ominously crashes with thunder, and water began to trickle from the sky. We ignored the signs from above and kept on with the lesson. About 5 minutes later it began, the rain became more steady, and the tinging sound alerted my ears. Hail?!?! yes it was Hail and the more it came down the faster we started to tear down our equipment. Finnaly Maurice urgently said "Grab it and run. and i did. I hugged the tripod and ran/walked promptly for cover. In the cover of the buildings overhang we were both astonished at the size, the amount and the force of the hail and the rain. It was great. Many came out from their offices and stared, apparently this type of storms happenn very rarely. It really was great, but now I am stuck inside, with nothing to do but learkn computer languages ie. UNIX oh joy :) but hey I saw it hail in Hawaii. and that is pretty cool.
