There are a few things I would like to say about working with a WAHM.  Tonight I had the most horrible e-mail ever from a customer.  And while I was trying very hard to help this person and had been for sometime it was only met with some very hateful things said about me as a person, the things that I make, and my ethics.  I have openly admitted ( Read more... )

Wow, mama I am so sorry that you got such an awful e-mail. Personally, I think that you've been great and very open with communication, at least with me. Life happens, diapers can wait. I am absolutely amazed at the volume that you have been doing each month and am honored to have gotten some customs. I plan to sell my Fuzzi Bunz and Happy Heinys once my daughter outgrows them, but my Sumbuns will be carefully stored away for my next child. If it's a boy he will be wearing some girly diapers because I just love them so!

So, uh, yea. What I'm saying is, I think you are awesome for what you have done and I wish you the best of luck. I'm excited to see what you come up with next! Now go get some sleep! =)

I'm sorry you've been abused by a customer (and on a public forum?!?!?! how tacky!)

I think that your #1 and 2 ideas are fabulous. At this point, I probably wouldn't participate, but if you'd been doing that when I started, I might have.

I don't see how the third idea is much different from the second, unless you charge for all the diapers up front, with the understanding that you have to return the used diapers for new (or have the ability to "upgrade" by paying the difference to keep the old diapers)

I think those are fabo ideas and if gel were younger I would TOTALLY be into doing it. Since we're at the large stage (and hopefully won't go to XL) it wouldn't work. However being able to "test" a dipe before investing would be awesome and certainly would have saved me personally a lot of head and heartache in figuring out what works for us.

Got rambly for a second there.

And you know I think you are amazing. And I am so thrilled that your craftsmanship and art covers my girl's butt ;>

i think it's great you're exploring new ideas for the business and hope people stop badgering you - you've been very vocal and honest about the diapers all along.

the ideas themselves, for me, aren't something I'd partake of - since I'm happy to resell the diapers for nearly full price :)

OH yeah, not I TOTALLY agree. Me being in the situation to sell 1,000 diapers in a few months and sew them by myself was NEVER the plan. I take on more than I can handle but seriously... that was not even something I would do. Three people were supposed to be sewing. But that is besides the point. For the first time ever I have been e-mailing and updating so on and so forth. I actually emailed everyone from my last shipping session and gave DC#'s too. But as far as me taking customs I am really done for at least two months. One or two fine... but really I would rather wait until the begining of the year. I have always done customs... I have never not done them. So it is time for a break. Time for me to sit back and rest from all of this and do what I want too for a while ( ... )

Will you know what to do with yourself if you're not sewing diapers? Lol!

I also didn't mean to make it sound like it was your choice to let things get to this point, or like you can change it right this second. It just runs out of control, I totally understand and it gets harder and harder to say no and before you know it you're at a point you never intended or even imagined you would be and you're buried so deep you don't even know what to do.
Anyway, I'm sorry for everything you've been dealing with and I can't imagine having to take on the work of 3 people.

Hey don't think you can keep me from a sewing machine!!!! lol I LOVE sewing. I have a list of about 20 million things I want to sew! ;) Most people just think of me as a diaper maker. But I actually design clothes and make patterns and what not too. I have several ideas that I want to get out there and see how people respond and what not. It is kind of exciting.
