Well, this update is going to be somewhat of a bomb. To cut to the chase I was supposed to get married in three weeks. As I was going to Alaska, the new slave-driver, and I decided to get married enroute. Since, we both spent part of our childhood in Northern California, I thought it would be symbolic to bind our selfs together where part of our roots lie. Now, my grandmother happens to still live there, so I asked her to help with some of the arangements to our "simple" wedding.
I think most of you can see where this is going.
All she had to do was find a place, contact her friend to cater, and get a fire pit. Everything else would fall where it may, afterall it was supposed to be informal, fun, and casual. Did I forget to mention that I'm the only male my generation for about five removed with the family/clan's last name?
Yes, she went overboard! Worse, she tends not be a controlling, negative, condesending type, that was trying to make the perfect wedding for her grandson that only wanted a location with the view of the lake and a firepit. In the process, of planning the "perfect" wedding, she offended the bride's family with many little comments but it cuminated whe she hired a musician when I had already told her that the bride's brother would be doing the music. Well, now the wedding is called off, and I'm having a hell of a time to get my ex-bride to confront the grandmother.
I had over fifty guests to my "simple" little wedding all from one side.
