Ohio gets GMAC Bowl bid
Bobcats to appear in first Bowl since 1968

Ohio Athletics announced Tuesday afternoon that the football team has accepted an invitation to play in the GMAC Bowl in Mobile, Alabama. The game will be played on Sunday, January 7th in Ladd-Peebles Stadium vs. either Houston or Southern Miss from Conference USA. The 8 PM game will be televised by ESPN.
This is the Bobcats first Bowl appearance since 1968 and third in school history. Ohio's first-ever Bowl appearance came in the 1962 Sun Bowl vs. West Texas State in a 15-14 Bobcat loss. Cleve Bryant led the 1968 squad to a Tangerine Bowl berth. In a shootout, Ohio lost to Richmond 49-42.
