Chuck / American Idol / Lost

I only saw Chuck last night because our Monday was crazy.

I'm actually not sure that people are still reading my LJ, so I'm not going to use cut tags anymore on any of my posts (I think I forgot how to do them). Plus I'm also going to assume that anyone who cares has actually seen it already.

Chuck
Like most everyone else, I found Kristin Kreuk mostly inoffensive at least and quite charming at best on Chuck. Also her makeup was not distracting, she's opening her mouth fully to speak, and she wasn't doing that annoying head-bob/bobblehead thing that she did on Smallville that totally annoyed me. Either she has grown as an actor or I have just become less concerned about it all. The reason I watch Chuck is not for Chuck/Sarah specifically, so I'm not bothered at all by the love quadrangle they've set up here.

I like that Chuck actually "flashed" on something (Original Intersect) rather than just acquiring kung-fu skills or Rosetta Stone (Intersect 2.0). Prior to this episode, I wasn't sure that the old Intersect was incorporated with the new one (I didn't remember anything from the previous episodes this season, possibly because I am old or because I was chasing after a 3-year-old while watching).

What I do find strange is Shaw's seeming distress over his dead (?) wife at the same time as his complete and confident overtures on Sarah. That particular relationship seems way less organic, in my opinion.

American Idol
I like Ellen De Generes, and I like her on American Idol. I think she was very gentle when letting people down, and I like how she messed with those people making them step forward, step back and forward, and then letting them all through. I still hope they get rid of Kara. She sucks so much. I think they're giving Paula's old crazy pills to her.

As far as favorites, Lilly gets automatic points for singing one of my favorite Sarah Vaughan songs, "Lullaby of Birdland." (I think it's Sarah Vaughan. It could be Ella Fitzgerald? Feel free to correct me.) It's a very difficult song to sing, and then she even put her own spin on it. I wish I could have heard the entire rendition.

I think the girl who sang the Kara song "Terrified" was named Didi. Her name is unfortunate, but she made Kara's song sound so good. I normally find Kara's songs mostly bland, so this is definitely an improvement.

I also enjoyed the dude who put his own spin on "Straight Up." I hope he can keep that momentum going.

Everyone else was not that memorable. As far as those who went home, I don't really have any issues because from what we saw, the eliminations were justified. And there are still always some awful people that get through anyway. So the fewer awful people we see, the better (IMO).

Lost
WTFajita I still don't get it.

Personal: I got a call back regarding a lactation educator position at the same hospital where the Mini was born! Cross fingers that I get an interview!
