Small Spencer Reid Picspam -- WTF?

Okay, what's with the glasses???? Did the producers decide their geek was too hot?
Are they trying to de-sex him?
Turn him into an old woman?
Seriously, people! This is not right! TELL ME HE DOESN'T KEEP THOSE GLASSES UNTIL THE END OF TIME ITSELF!!!!
Although I kind of like them.
I'm thinking maybe it's part of a story arc that will span the whole season. Maybe, unknown to Reid, there's a bomb concealed in the corner of one of the lenses and when Reid goes over fifty miles per hour the bomb will arm and they'll have to extract him without slowing the glasses down ...
