This movie is based on a work published by Shigematsu Kiyoshi last year in July, in which bullying among junior and high school students is highlighted, as well as suicides caused by that.

Story A new school term has started. At first glance, it's just calm and cheerful students attending. However, the school shakes heavily because of a suicide attempt by a bullied male student that happened during the preceding term.
Noguchi-kun's family ran a convenience store, and his classmates gave him the nickname "konbini-kun". Many people kept demanding products from the convenience store, and he would pass them over.
Not able to take it any longer, he tried to take away his life, leaving a will in which he wrote the names of 3 students as his murderers. But those names never surfaced.
The media caused an uproar, the teachers strengthened student counseling to overcome this situation. Eventually, Noguchi-kun changed schools. The store was also closed. And the homeroom teacher took temporary leave because of the pressure.
On the first day of the new term, a temp teacher comes to this 2nd year 1st section class. It's a male teacher called Murauchi. The students are all surprised when he says his greetings. He stammers heavily. And soon, everyone's surprise turns into laughter.
However, that laughter disappears by one thing Murauchi says. "To forget, is mean."
Then he orders the class to bring Noguchi-kun's table back, and talks to the no one sitting in that place. "Noguchi-kun, ohayou."
The students freeze. They are disturbed and repulsed at the bringing back of the accident that the other teachers have tried so hard to settle and scoop under the carpet.
Murauchi doesn't mind those students, and every morning, as if to provoke them, he talks to that empty place. "Noguchi-kun, ohayou."
This doesn't cause a stir in the class only, but also among the teachers and parents. But Murauchi has no intention of quitting that habit.
There's one student that watches that Murauchi intently; Sonobe Shin'ichi.
Sonobe was once instigated by his classmates and asked Noguchi-kun to bring him chips. He was deeply hurt by it all. Among the students who were anxious and worried of those names in the will surfacing, he was extremely convinced his name must be there.
It's been one month since Murauchi took his post.
Taking advantage of an event, Sonobe blows his feelings at Murauchi.
Noguchi was always joking around, he seemed to be happy to be asked to bring things, and would bring more than was asked of him. But in reality, that Noguchi might have been seeking help.
Murauchi musters his strength to get over his stammering, and starts talking to the complaining Sonobe.
The thoughts people try to transmit to others. Trying to listen to that. And the responsibility that people must bear upon living.
Sonobe gets stuck, and blocked, because of Murauchi's words. But, more than that, they pierce into his heart.
Then, the day for Murauchi to leave class 2 section 1 comes.
As expected, starting from Sonobe, that which Murauchi-sensei left to the students...
