Yngwie, David, Ritchie, lend me your fingers!

… I mean your fingers and musical brains. And I don’t think I’d give them back to you. :p

Hello, LJ friends. How are you? I’ve been away for long, I think. Many things have happened in my so-called life, and most of them are pretty boring… which is why I write this entry :D
The saddest thing in my life, recently, was financial problem. I mean, I wasn’t sure I could get any income to support my life in the next -say- week. Bills and debts seemed to forever knocking at my door, not to mention this never-ending cough. Life was more than boring. I missed the days of shopping heartlessly and regretting that the next day.

I used to cheer myself with food. But buying food (you know, cookies, ice cream, chocolate and all heavenly things) was a serious problem (lol) for me. Shopping stupid things was not an option, either. Writing wasn’t a great escape, cause I couldn’t think of anything (but moneymoneymoney). And then thank God, I found it. MY GUITAR!

Not that I’m a guitar god (lol), or even a decent guitar player. I can’t play guitar at all.

It doesn’t matter. Strumming guitar and (pretending) to play a song is a great escape. I don’t have to think. I just let my fingers press any frets, reading tablature if necessary (but useless.lol.), forcing my fingers to learn scale (though I don’t know what that is. Lol.), while ignoring the fact that my guitar is out of tune. Lololol. I do that everyday and night before I go to bed. I spent New Year Eve alone with my guitar. Even one of its chord broke because I’m too obsessed with playing it (NOT TRUE! It broke because it was so bad it began to peel itself). And then I spent a whole night (oh, please) to change all the chords with my own hands! So, now you know why it is out of tune. Bwahaha…

enough with your lebayness!

But I think I should be serious learning to play guitar. At least, I have to be able to play the intro of Wish You Were Here or Nothing Else Matters. That’s my 2011 resolution. And that resolution isn’t too high (actually, it’s too low for guitar student :P) because I have my beloved youtube videos.

They show me techniques I only found in tablature codes and that no kind street musicians would tell me what they are. [insert love youtube emoticon] Now I know how to slide and bend. And it makes me love David Gilmour even more. No, he didn’t teach me, if that’s what you think :p. He just uses those (basic?) techniques (too) often. And somehow I find it more interesting and -ahem- sexy than what fast player does. But that doesn’t stop me from wanting to steal Yngwie’s hands.

Oh, and I want to share another good news. No, not that financial problem. It’s almost over, but...that’s not an interesting topic at all. -_-“
I just want to say that I have a favorite guitar teacher. I don’t know if he’s the best teacher in youtube. But he has cool style of teaching, or maybe it’s just the way he talks. I like it when he makes a face like saying “See? This is fuckin’ easy.”

Here’s a video of him teaching Nothing Else Matters.

What am I doing? Am I fangirling this guy?
