Geoffrey hadn't even really heard of the things (which is what happens when you're something of a loner and don't listen to the radio) and that is why he was entirely unprepared for the rather unpleasant bite that he received while getting up to get the coffee started.

Now, perhaps it was because he was mad, or just a whim of the strange and nonsensical forces that ruled his life, but not much really changed for him. He frowned, looked around, and continued making coffee.
