All ashore that's going ashore

*anyone looking westward to the lake would have noticed the huge blue-and-white sails of the Lino en Kuldes carrying the ship to port earlier in the day, but so far no one has stepped off the ship except the grunts carrying the mooring ropes and embarking ramp. Pshaw, it was just a couple of weeks for exercise and law enforcement. Though it kind of got turned into almost a month, but eh. We're used to that.

Kinda' like how my weeks recoverin' turned into almost a month, eh?

You should've stayed out there for a few more weeks, old man. *grins*

Pretty much. I see you haven't gotten yourself into any further trouble since.

Pssh, why, you planning something, Pirate Hervey?

Not yet, anyway. You could say I'm just bidin' my time.

Me? Plan something? Never. I ain't got the patience to, we both know that!

Good to see you didn't get your sense of humor gutted out of you, after all.

Now, a fine upstanding young man like yourself would look good in an Obel Naval uniform, wouldn't he? I bet it would catch some lady's eye, if you know what I mean.

The day I get all old 'n bitter'll be the day pigs fly... if I can help it, I mean.

Hah! What're you up to, old man? Tryin' to coax me into the impossible? I reckon' I'd look damn straight awful in one of those things. I ain't clean-cut enough, or whatever -- girls or no girls.

Pah, clean-cut doesn't matter. You should have seen Yahr - even my own wife wanted to take a dagger to that scruffy hair. I said no, my Navy boys are my responsibility, and if he wants to look like that, fine, so long as he does his job.

...'course, then he deserted because of Rune Cannons.

... *can't help but laugh at that, shaking his head a little* Y'see what I mean? I ain't the desertin' kind, but I just might end up like that poor -- Yahr? -- there.

... Man, that's a shockin' name.

Hey, the girls loved Yahr. Something about the way he wore that vest, I think. Shoulda seen 'em lined up on the pier when we sailed in. Made me laugh and wish I was thirty again, so I could get all the attention.

What? It's no Hervey, but it's a fine Obel name.

Now you're really pullin' my leg, aren'tcha'? There's about no way I'd wear that outfit unless I was dared to, old man. And even that's temporary. *grin*

Doesn't it sound kinda'... arrrr? ... Kinda' manly, I guess.

Oho...you just gave me a really nice idea, Hervey. A couple of them, maybe. Heheh!

What's the matter, got a problem with manly?

Reply

foxy_hervey July 8 2009, 04:03:14 UTC
... Whatever satisfaction you get, it's only temporary~ You got nothin' to gain, man!

... Wait, what're you trying to say, that I'm not manly or something?

loudest_egan July 8 2009, 04:08:11 UTC
Temporary satisfaction is what I live for!

I don't know. But if Yahr is a manly name, what's Hervey?

foxy_hervey July 8 2009, 04:12:02 UTC
... S-sadist.

... An equally manly name!?
