Happy Thursday. I really love rainy days, but it gets a bit old after a while. Especially when you have yard work to do...
Last night was a landmark progress day on the house- I met with my realtor! I'm going with the same lady who helped me buy the house. She's really sweet and great at what she does. We spent the evening looking at the competition's listings on her computer and decided that my house may not be the deal of the century since I can't cut the price too low without taking a loss, but it stands a good fighting chance against what's out there. *fingers crossed*
I filled out the paperwork to make her my realtor, but the house hasn't quite been put on the market yet. The roomies have finished moving out but due to work schedules and life in general weren't able to finish until Monday, so my plan to do all the cleaning last Sunday when I had a full day of free time got pushed back a bit. I tried my hardest on Tuesday, but of course couldn't finish in the few hours I had after work. I always think I can handle more work in a short period of time than I'm really capable of. At least the procrastinator in me would love to believe I'm capable of last minute works of wonder. But just getting the garbage out of Danny's room alone took 1 and 1/2 hours. I can't imagine how hard he must have worked to get all his stuff out in a single day! It looks perfect now though- another room off the to do list! Woo Hoo!
Getting pushed back may be best in the long run - I was really only going to be able to do a "good enough" cleaning when really what I want to do is a "perfect" cleaning. Since I wasn't ready to hand over the keys yesterday and my realtor teaches today, the earliest we can meet again is Friday. She'll need time to get to the house, set up a lock box and take pictures, so that'll give me the weekend to finish my intense cleaning. I've decided to skip lessons this Saturday to give me two full days to clean and polish to my OCD heart's content. She remembered how ugly the junk room upstairs was and asked if I had been able to finish it and it made me feel really un-prepared to have to say no, so I'm thinking it would be a good idea at minimum to paint the sucker. Unfortunately, that means getting rid of the peeling paint/wallpaper mess of doom that's on the walls now... I've got my weekend cut out for me.
In other news, I'm now at a total of 33 pounds down! *happy dance* Guess there's a good side to all the physical labor I've been doing! I was thinking about it last night cause I probably weight about the same as I did 4 years ago when I bought the house (maybe even a little lighter). Yay for seeing someone you haven't seen in 4 years and not being 33 pounds heavier! If I had tried to sell the house in March when I wanted to I would have been, so I guess there's an added bonus to the three month delay!
So yeah, one more weekend of hell and then back to my regularly scheduled life of internet, lessons and fandom! Hopefully there will be time for doing stuff with friends somewhere in there too ^_^
