Another one of Spitz's classic songs. This song is the theme song to a famous 90s Japanese drama series called "Hakusen Nagashi" (flowing white line). In response to the request for a song to be made, Kusano-san took only 2-3 days to write this song after reading the scenario for the drama. Although it was written to be the drama's theme song, the band also chose it to be their 8th single. (now they have nearly 40 singles O__O;;; amazing~)

This song was released in 1994, to mediocre success. After the drama aired in 1996, the song was revived as a smash hit and was the first Spitz song to both chart at no.1 in the Oricon charts, and to sell more than a million copies in it's first week. This song is still commonly played at school graduations in Japan, due to the impact of the drama (which was about high-school life). The song also won the 8th Japanese Academy Award for being the best song in a television drama in 1996.

This song makes me feel so old nostalgic! Look at how young, fresh, innocent and clean they look in that video! This was even before Miwa-san started wearing his trademark sunglasses. It's inspiring to see how far they've come from their boy-ish blue-sky 90s image to what they are now.

The PV was shot by Takeuchi Tetsuro, who shot the majority of their PVs from their "Hibari no Kokoro" days up until "Masayume". There's a lot of history behind this song. Please enjoy the translation. \(^O^)/

[Kanji]

[Translation]

I Should Be Able To Fly Even Into The Sky

I remain unable to lower of this mild, childish fever
The fear of God's shadow
I kept a knife that appears to not suit me hidden
It consoled me with it's humorous song

While the colours fade
While the cracks show
I seek for everything that shines

The miracle that I met you makes my chest feel like it's overflowing
I'm sure now, I should be able to freely fly even into the sky
The moist tears from my dreams will flow into the sea
Truly, I want you to be smiling next to me

My trump card had been blatant lies
They were destroyed on the night of the full moon

The fleeting scent of your hair when you swing it
Woke me up from a deep sleep

The miracle that I met you makes my chest feel like it's overflowing
I'm sure now, I should be able to freely fly even into the sky
Though this sparkling, garbage-like world may reject us
Truly, I want you to be smiling next to me

The miracle that I met you makes my chest feel like it's overflowing
I'm sure now, I should be able to freely fly even into the sky
The moist tears from my dreams will flow into the sea
Truly, I want you to be smiling next to me
