The title means "Madder" which is a common plant-based red dye.

The temporary title of this song was "Koharu" (late autumn). I think the both the temporary title and the final title really suits the lyrics, that has a strong red-coloured atmosphere and image of sitting inside while looking at the reddish sunset outside.

This song along with "Horou Kamome wa Doko Made mo", "Iroha" and "8823" was mixed in America, but the sound source was remixed when the band returned to Japan. The sound source that was mixed in America was recorded using an analog board.

[Kanji]

[Romaji]
kanashii hi ni wa atarashii uta hitotsu
tooku arukidasou ka

hare no yohou mo HAZUreta kedo
akaku kasumu yuuhi o matou ka

GOMI ni mietemo suterarezuni
afureru namida o fukinagara

kanashii hi ni wa usotsuki uta hitotsu
tooku arukidasou ka

karada no dokoka de kanojo o omou
mata aou to itta michi no ue

kanashii hi ni wa atarashii uta hitotsu
tooku arukidasou ka

akaku kasumu yuuhi o matou ka

[Translation]

Madder.

There's a single new song during a sad day
Should I walk away from it?

Though the forecast said it would be sunny
But outside there's a hazy redness
Should I let myself be covered by the sunset?

Though it may look like trash, don't throw it away
Wipe away your river of tears

There's a single new song during a sad day
Should I walk away from it?

Thinking about where her body is
As I go along the road that leads us back to each other

There's a single new song during a sad day
Should I walk away from it?

But outside there's a hazy redness
Should I let myself be covered by the sunset?
