"smarter" tag tracking

Title
"smarter" tag tracking

Short, concise description of the idea
When tracking an entry, a shortlist of tags from that entry should be provided first, rather than the entire taglist.

Full description of the idea
A great way to follow something interesting on LJ is to use the "track this" feature, to subscribe to certain tags. When you click the "track this" button, however, you are provided with a list of ALL of the tags for that particular community or journal, instead of the tags on that entry. I often find myself back-clicking to remember what particular tag I wanted to track. It would be very useful to have another drop-down list that only includes the tags for the entry I am trying to track. It would make more sense, too, because it was a tag on that entry that caught my eye, after all, not a tag on one of the person/community's other entries, and there may be other similar tags I could choose by mistake.
An ordered list of benefits
  • easier-to-use tag subscriptions
An ordered list of problems/issues involved
  • coding
  • some people may prefer having the whole list
  • it might be silly to have both the whole list and the list for the particular entry

user interface, usability, subscription management, tags, § no status
