I know it's possibly futile to attempt to define "indefinable", but what general direction does the squick take?

If I were squicked by this, it would be by the implied suggestion that LiveJournal thinks any given reader should, as well as could, investigate the back entries in this tag, as well as reading the entries going forward, and that the notifications are sent "silently" from the journal owner's perspective, as one does not know who has subscribed to one's journal in this fashion rather than having you on their friends page. (Unless they comment, or you have the My Guests feature on and they do too, or you have other tracky things that make a pretty good guess of who is reading.)

Upon examination, I am of the general opinion that if someone is conversant enough with tags to be subscribing to new entries in one, then they are likely also to be conversant enough with them to have already perused the back entries if they were interested in doing so, or to know that they could.

I didn't edit it (I use my alt journal when the queue's not empty and I have a suggestion and I don't want to spend a couple hours emptying it so I can make a suggestion), so that leaves the wrong suggestion or the Ghost of Christmas Past.

Though I probably wouldn't find a lot of use for it, sounds good to me!
