I have a refinement: rather than having the option to only switch the address the notifications are sent to, add the address (or switch if you want to). So your comments could still be archived at whatever address they usually go to, and you have them coming in as well to the address you sent in the entry from.

You would then have to validate all sender addresses (somehow) in setting up the address as an authorized email post address, or, if they cannot receive mail, specify an alternate return/reply-to address. You should also be able to set the comment notif settings per-address -- say I want to post from my work address, but NOT get any notifications there, but post from an alternate personal address and have notifications come there then.

If an email address is removed from being an authorized email post address, would it still be allowed to get responses? If so, there would need to be a way to de-authorize it, and then either only send responses to the primary email on the account, or (if notifs were only being sent to the email post address) switch over to the default email address.

(I like this. Lots.)

And you could choose to send it either as text message or email, maybe?
