Full description of the idea
When someone spectacularly mis-types a username in a comment or entry, the result is an error message within the comment or entry, "[bad username in tag]", which gives the reader no ability to even guess what the author intended.

The error message should report what the author typed.
An ordered list of benefits
  • Readers can guess which username the author intended if they have the example of what the author typed.

An ordered list of problems/issues involved
  • May increase time to post entires and comments.
  • Will look even uglier than the current error message.

An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation
  • The code that processes entries and comments should printing the incorrect username typed by the author.
