Short, concise description of the idea
Some people don't realise that syndicated feeds are, well, syndicated. A warning on the comments page for syndicated journals, to indicate that the original poster may not read the LJ feed would be helpful.

It's fairly frequent, for instance, that a post on OfficialGaiman will get responses for Neil Gaiman, followed by someone pointing them in the right direction. See:
