Title
Update Journal page should default to full mode
Short, concise description of the idea
Get rid of the simple update page and have update.bml always go to the full update page instead.
Full description of the idea
The simple update page is relatively useless. You can't even select a security level or set a current mood/music. The page update.bml should automatically display all of the options; that is to say, get rid of the simple mode and have the full mode be the default.
An ordered list of benefits
  • People who use browsers that can't handle the JavaScript/CSS trickery used to hide the full options won't lose their entry upon clicking the "full options" link.
  • The options will be right there so that people won't be confuzzled as to how to do things that are on the full options page.
  • World peace.

  • An ordered list of problems/issues involved
  • Can't think of any. Someone has to do it?
  • It won't bring an end to hunger.

  • An organized list, or a few short paragraphs detailing suggestions for implementation
  • Get rid of the ellipsis by each of the links to Update Journal, because there will only be one mode to update in.
  • Write a patch so that ?mode=full becomes the default. Get it reviewed. Get it committed. Push it live. Everyone rejoices.
  • entry editor, entry creation, § implemented
