Why doesn't an established brand like LJ have "share to LJ" buttons out there like G+, Tumblr, Facebook...?

Full description of the idea
I have been on LJ for 9.5 years. I have always loved the service. I like being able to customize my LJ. I love having a choice of icons, and I've met some great people here.

But I wish it was easier to share media that I see on other sites. If I want to share something to my Google +, Tumblr or Facebook, all I have to do is press a button. You can share out from LJ, but you can't share in.

This needs to be looked at. Why should these new sites get all the attention?
An ordered list of benefits

• 1 - Increased awareness of Livejournal. More people need to know it still exists to bring in more members who will buy paid accounts. YOU WILL MAKE MORE MONEY.
• 2 - Partnerships with other sites. If you had television/movie/and other sites hosting a post this to LJ button, you'd be building more brand awareness, which would bring in more members/money.
• 3 - Spending so much time rebuilding the structure of LJ isn't getting you new members. It's alienating old ones. Branding and outreach to the rest of the world, competing with FB, Tumblr and Google + WILL get you more members/money.

An ordered list of problems/issues involved

• 1 - You don't want to become another Facebook. Why not? FB gets all the $$$.
