Title
Additional Post Privacy Options

Short, concise description of the idea
Have a setting for LJ and Facebook Friends Only

Full description of the idea
The basic notion would be to expand upon the LJ Friends Only setting to have an additional setting that would add those listed as Facebook friends as well -- meaning that the only people that could see a post with that setting would be people logged into LJ and listed as LJ friends or those logged into Facebook and listed as a user Facebook friends. Note that, for the feature to work at all, the user would have had to enable Facebook connect so that the FB friends list could be obtained. This setting would have no effect for those not utilizing FB connect.
An ordered list of benefits
  • It would increase privacy for posts: one wouldn't have to make a post fully public on Livejournal in order to have it visible to Facebook friends as well (as not all of them create Facebook accounts)
  • It might promote awareness of Livejournal, increasing the potential user base of LJ for those that like long-form writing.
An ordered list of problems/issues involved
  • As with anything Facebook, the Facebook haters would likely think it means more accessibility from Facebook, without realizing it would only come into play for those that have enabled FB connect and actually choose the setting.
  • It might not be possible to detect if a user visiting Livejournal is simulataneously logged into Facebook. At best, you might be able to detect if they came directly from a link on Facebook, and perhaps prompt for their username.
