Title
"All" option for poll respondants is ambiguous

Short, concise description of the idea
In polls where the various voting and viewing options are available to "All" or "Everyone", it could be read that this means anyone, even if they are not logged in to a LiveJournal account. Is it possible to change this to something like "All LiveJournal ( Read more... )

Actually, even those not logged in can view detailed poll results that are available to "All." I just tested it just now to be sure.

But that said, as far as poll voting goes, I'm all for anything that promotes better clarity for the users. I suppose it could be shortened to "All LJ users" if space is an issue (even "All registered users" might be too long), even though that's not really considered to be an orthodox abbreviation for LiveJournal, no matter how widely used.

Ah, OK :) Thank you for checking that!

Yep! The current poll design (or rather, the poll design since the inception of polls :P) has always used "all" to mean two different things... all logged-in LJ users (in the case of voting) and passerbyers (in the case of viewing).

Hopefully space will not be an issue and they can use something like "all logged in users", because technically you could say that someone is an LJ user whether or not they're logged in; just by virtue of their being on the site.

Since "All" means two different things, I can't see a way to change this, because to do so would imply that only LJ users can view the results, which would be inaccurate. They're both wrong, but to change it would be to imply a stricter security on the poll than is actually present, which just seems MORE wrong to me.

Do you mean that the string that is displayed in the menus in the various poll creators is the same string that is displayed when the poll is viewed? If so, I suggest that developers separate those :D

Unless I'm reading it wrong, which could absolutely be the case, it does look like they're the same string: http://www.livejournal.com/poll/create.bml?uselang=debug

Oh wait I think I am reading it wrong. Let me dig more. Freaking translation is hard.

Okay, in the poll creator, at least, they're different strings and could be changed. Digging into the rest of it now.

Okay, to sum up my babbling: I have found all the relevant strings (I think) and can theoretically change whovote without affecting whoview. However, I don't want to do this without staff input that is not me, because this could be a minor wording change or a major one, depending on your point of view. :)

If you want an option to run by staff, I suggested "All accounts" as a wording change above.
