Saying whether or not we will use a feature is a normal part of reviewing any given suggestion. I get that you're suggesting this as an opt-in. I'm just stating a fact (and I tend to always say when I wouldn't use any potential feature -- not just in this case).

I was NOT suggesting you 'Friend' negative people. And anyone can be negative from time to time, if we're going to get into that. I'm just saying that we already have options for dealing with negativity at LiveJournal. Mentioning these options isn't meant to upset you -- I'm just clarifying why I don't feel we need this feature. Others may disagree, of course.

I always mention the work involved, by the way. My thought is that I have a sort of 'list' in my head of what I'd like to see done here by way of improvements/changes/additions. Yes, these all require work. I figure the manhours involved are limited, so I have preferences (as everyone does). That's all I'm getting at. (You didn't mention the work in your original suggestion, by the way...)

I'm not down on you for making this suggestion -- or any other suggestion. More power to you! Keep 'em comin'! But, yes, I'm always going to give my PERSONAL opinions, whether I agree or not. It's not personal and I never (ever) attack anyone here.

All good?

Actually, my response was not personal or negative in any respect, sorry if you took it that way :). I was just clarifying why we need this feature, that's all.

Being an ERP analyst, I do know the implications of additional coding, but IMO this very option is not time and/or resource consuming. As to the list - everyone has his own, and priorities are different for different people, so no offense taken. :)

I think we're both concerned with not offending -- something very important to me here in this community.

I take no offense with what you're saying -- and I appreciate you clarifying your suggestion.

Of course we all have priorities -- and what's important to me need not be to you (and vice versa). Filters work well for me -- which isn't to say they work well for everyone.

And the DRAMA here sometimes? Yikes!

(grin)

Um... I mean the drama at LJ overall -- not here in the community. I think suggestions is pretty drama free...

Right, too much drama, sometimes. If not for that, I'd be completely happy here (at LJ).

Back when I first got a blog I HATED all the drama -- so I wasn't very active here. But I hung in and now I blog daily -- and belong to a ton of communities. I really love LJ.

Hang in there -- the drama is the least of it!

(I've been here since 2002...)

Wow! And still alive and kicking! Respect :)

I've been here only since 2007 (and only to comment to my single friends' posts first). As of late, I blog almost daily, but the entropy is killing me. Too much drama I cannot filter out and would like to never have read...
