The idea is to introduce a new button 'Unsee' for the users to be able to make invisible unwanted posts/threads/comments in other users' journals if they want to (in order to protect themselves from negative information)

Full description of the idea
LJ could add a new button 'Unsee', which would be available to users (either to the paid ones, or to everyone). The button would be available for the users in the others' LJs to unsee the threads/posts/comments they don't want to see, as well as in the set up of their LJ, so that they would be able to select the users, whose comments, posts, threads they would like to hide/unsee in their friend pages/communities.
An ordered list of benefits

• 1. It would be possible to generate new income for LJ through selling the new functionality to users.
• 
  2. LJ users would be able to opt out of reading the hate messages/threads/posts/users.
• 
  3. Fewer users would close down their LJs due to the frustration caused by the volume of trolling and insults in their friend pages and communities.
• 
  4. There would be fewer conflicts and more sunshine in LJ and in the Universe in general. :)

An ordered list of problems/issues involved

• I can't see any issues, as the funtionality would be optional and if the users don't want to use it, they would not.
