I would like users to be able to sell the name of their journal to another user
Full description of the idea
There are lots of people who want to use LJ names that have already been taken. However deleting accounts of those who have some content on their journals is clearly controversial.
I would like a system whereby you could offer a fixed some of money to another user to acquire their username and delete their content. I would prefer a fixed sum to prevent issues of excessive cybersquating on high profile names. I also think LJ could retain a proportion of the exchange of funds(perhaps 10-20%).
An ordered list of benefits
- The buyer would be able to get hold of a name they had always wanted.
The seller would be incentivised to lose their name and content. It would be their choice to leave their lj name behind.
