Change 'Upload from URL' at the 'Manage Userpics' page to allow the uploading of userpics that do not end in .gif, .jpg, .png

Full description of the idea
When you upload pictures to the scrapbook, they come out as something like http://pics.livejournal.com/exampleusername/pic/00684b9c. If you copy that link to the Upload from URL section, it won't allow you to upload it. You have to save the picture on your computer and use Upload from File, or upload it to another website and then bring it over. Changing the acceptable format for userpics could avoid many problems such as these.
An ordered list of benefits

• This is mostly helpful for the icon makers/users of LiveJournal. It's much easier to use icons from someone's post this way.
• Encourages the use of the Scrapbook.

An ordered list of problems/issues involved

• Not really sure how these things work, could take up a bit more of LiveJournal's server space?
• I can definitely forsee glitches coming with this
