Long time no see!
Just got back from work. Must hunt down Supernatural episode online.
Will leave thoughts on it later.
Okay, bye!
First off, love the "Zombies? Must be a Thursday. :( " line from Dean.
This episode wasn't bad, per se, just really dull for me. I like the angst. Hell, I love hot guys in angst but it felt too apparent and pushed on the characters. Last episode handled it much better, imo.
Last episode there was a lot more mystery to the mystery. In this episode things were revealed pretty early and easily to the characters. There was a lot of physical conflict (and emotional on Bobby's part) but I felt the intellectual conflict was missing. I.e. Sam'n'Dean arguing over mythology or ways to kill'em and plot twists - this plot was very linear. Super linear. Which isn't bad, again, just very boring.
Plot aside, the characters were beautifully preformed. Bobby was heartbreaking and I truly fear for his character in the future considering he's now as broken or more broken than Sam'n'Dean. Sam and Dean seemed very unsympathetic and not too empathetic, but after the last few episodes - with Jo and ellen dieing and the whole Famine thing - it's understandable. I can see a season 6 with them trying to heal the wounds this season has dealt them. If and when Supernatural is canceled I hope it ends with them in some state of peace - life can never be perfect for those boys but some form pf peace would be nice.
And 5.16? Oh, hell, I'm so excited. That's pretty much all I can say without imploding with fangirl joy.
