I figured I haven't written in a while and what better time then New Years. I actually had to work on News Years eve... until 1 am... just like I worked 10 hours on Christmas day. Yeah I know it sucks, but time-and-a-half is a good motivation! It was so funny, I was at the Starbucks at Pioneer Courthouse Square and we were counting down with party hats on and blowing our noise makers from behind the counter and while making coffee once the new year came in and there was NOTHING going on at the square so there were hundreds of people just standing outside in the cold looking at nothing. Poor them. But I was warm and getting paid, so I didn't care. Plus Vanessa and her boyfriend stopped by to say hello and that was nice of them. Kevin is in Barbados right now on a job so I didn't have anyone to kiss but I didn't mind.
I was trying to think of a good new years resolution. But I don't really have one. I'll just write down the couple things I could think of that I am trying to improve on right now:
1.) Ton my body again by eating healthy and exercising NOT by joining Jenny Craig or a gym
2.) Get out of the house more and live life
3.) Practice self control when it comes to spending money
I suppose the first two are really the ones I want to do but it's hard to not have #3 looming over my like a fog of darkness. I know that's a little dank of me to say that, but it's hard not to see the cost of that yoga class or that organic milk. Living healthily and happily in the American culture is hard to do. I for one would rather live my life like a dolphin with a hint of manatee (carefree with a dose of taking-life-easy) and of course my "going out" self would like to have the attitude of a Siamese cat (beautiful and luxiourious).
It seems that America's culture wants its civilians to eat like pigs and hoard like squirrels. The mob is fical and brainwashed. We can each make a difference by improving ourselves and vicariously improving the others around us. I know many people use new years as a time to change just yourself, but see it more as a chance to improve the world around us NOT ONLY yourself. I'll do my best to follow my own brainiac advice.
