The “old ladies”

Oh, I agree, these ladies were FAR from old. But, and this is solely my opinion, I don’t think the trope was played out quite as severely as you found it to be. I realize you wrote this when the episode was new, but I am only now streaming the series so I apologize for showing up here so late in the game. And admittedly, I am 56 years old now, older than the women at the time the episode first aired and, presumably, a tad older than the lovely young actresses in real life. Anyway, before I give the impression that I am here to add anything of real substance to your blog post, I will say that I liked your take on the episode but only dropped by to confess that had I been Sam, Beverly would have been beyond my powers of resistance whether I had been 47 or 17 at the time. 😁
