let the education begin
The Junebug began her day today a little cranky, but we turned it around with a little morning music appreciation lesson. We played the Beach Boys' 40th Anniversary edition of "Pet Sounds" as Mom explained the genesis of Brian Wilson's experimental phase and the complexity of analog recording and rotating Leslie speakers. She was especially fond of dancing to "Wouldn't It Be Nice" and if that wasn't a real smile, at 6 days old, it sure was a good imitation. Then for some seasoning we moved on to a few Beatles songs...like me when I was a sprout, she responded the most to "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da"...and she fell fast asleep during "Strawberry Fields Forever".
