I haven't been posting about sleep lately because it's taken a turn for the worse. Simon is waking so frequently I'm not even keeping track. Something like asleep for 3 and then up every hour after that. I think. I'm too out of it to even know for sure. All I know is we all need more sleep around here and it seems to me that our biggest hurdle ( Read more... )

After going to bed fairly smoothly and sleeping for a few hours, Simon was up a lot. We finally gave him some Motrin/Tylenol and then nursed him back to sleep around 3 and he slept for 3 hours. Blasted teeth! Come out and be done with it ( Read more... )

Monday night wasn't so great. I nursed him to sleep around his usual time. He was more or less up every hour or so after that. I was able to get him back to sleep quickly without nursing, but I was so very tired in the morning ( Read more... )

This weekend was so awesome! On Saturday we went for a walk down to Carkeek Park and Erik wore Simon in the new Ergo carrier. Yup. I broke down and bought one. It's an older version, so it was a little less expensive. I like it - it's faster to put on than the Moby, but the buckle things end up right in my armpits so I don't know how comfortable it ( Read more... )

Last night was awesome!! Simon went to sleep at 8ish after nursing and snuggling with Erik and then he didn't nurse again until 5am!! During the middle of the night he woke up about 3 times and I was able to get him back to sleep just by rubbing his back and singing twinkle twinkle little star. I was shocked and giddy that it worked. Progress!!

Last night I slept on the couch to see if Simon would sleep differently if I wasn't in the room and also for me to indulge in more sleep. Erik claims it didn't seem much different, he seemed to still wake up as much. But for me it was a lot different because I only nursed him to sleep at 8p and then not again until 6am!! I started paging though the No Cry Sleep Solution last night and for some reason it left me feeling overwhelmed. I actually read this book before, maybe when Simon was 4 months old? I didn't remember too much though. I just decided to do the same thing as the night before, omit 1 nursing session. It worked. But I wouldn't say it was a great night ( Read more... )
