Chapter Ten

Lee stumbled wearily into the pilots’ bunkroom, and was relieved to find it empty.  He’d just flown his first CAP as a fully-fledged pilot, and it had been more tiring than he expected, particularly following on from a long maintenance shift.  All he wanted was some quiet and a chance to sleep.  He sat down on the edge of his bunk ( Read more... )

Ah.. now this is very interesting based on Lee's (in cannon) principles... I'm completely hooked (as if I wasn't before ;) and can't wait to see what happens next!

Well Lee wouldn't be Lee without his principles. :) I couldn't change him that much! Though I think this Lee is even more likely to ignore orders and go his own way, because he's not had all those years of military discipline.

I'm basically following canon events now - but twisting them (and the characters actions) around to fit the AU.

Now this intrigues me even more....

Lee opened his mouth to reply and caught his breath as a memory blindsided him. Harsh, jagged breaths echoing inside his helmet, his hands raw and aching from banging frantically on the locked hatch, the hollow panic in his chest as he watched his oxygen slowly drip away…

Poor Zak is stuck between a rock and a hard place, now, isn't he? Well, it was obvious issues were going to arise soon, and of course, Lee's principles aren't going to make things easier on anyone, especially himself (as has been demonstrated on the show more than once).

“Don’t you talk to me in that tone. Ensign.”
Lee stiffened. “And don’t you dare pull rank on me. Dad.”

Love that line. It's so... them!

Yes, poor Zak. Stuck between Lee and Bill is not a comfortable place to be!

Glad you liked the argument.

Hmm, very intriguing... I think it fits right in with the Lee you've presented to us in this story.

As for the flashback... we will be finding out more on that front?

And yay for the Kara/Lee banter!!

Thanks for the great chapter.

Glad you liked the Kara/Lee banter, I always enjoy writing it. Yes, the flashback will crop up again later, and I'm glad Lee's arguments with Bill and Zak make sense. Thanks for commenting. :)

Funny that I was just thinking of this story today and wondering when you were going to post.

I love Lee, the little antagonistic bastard. Always has to push Dad's buttons.

Great chapter.

Thank you.

Yeah, I love Lee when he's being an antagonistic bastard. Even back in the mini-series. And at the moment pushing Dad's buttons involves looking incredibly hot in a suit/white shirt, so I'm definitely all for it! I must see if I can find some icons of that somewhere...
