So...I've really stopped updating. I just haven't felt the need to. I think part of it has been a need just to use the internet less in general...which has been a nice break, but part of it just is the lack of anything to follow ( Read more... )

Oh it is an easy A. I don't think I ever made anything less than an A in one of Dalton's classes. And maybe you'd like his style. It's very reliant on student discussion. Which personally I felt gypped doing it that way. I want the prof to tell me what I need to learn and if discussion springs, great. But then I want the prof to reign it in and be like "That's great and everything and everyone had some great points. This is what I was getting at and my point..." but he never did that. It was very much reliant on the reading and discussion. Which I sucked at both. So I just kind of floundered and BSed my way through.

He's a sweet man. When he was my adviser he would always make sure I had a lunch break scheduled in. Other than that though, he always left it up to me. Actually, the only adviser who didn't just leave it up to me and actually talked with me somewhat about goals was when I was a psych major. And there are so many requirements and everything with psych it was really important. Theatre and Soc... Meh, if you think you've got what you need, cool beans.

I like student discussion, it's fun, as long as you are not graded on things that are never discussed or you are graded on things that never come up but he intended to come up. I like to just go with the flow.

I can't think of any prof talking to me about my goals, really. Hoov did, when I asked hiom if I should put off graduating a semester to add Human services as a Major. He advised that in my field it was fine as a minor...and he wasn't even my advisor, just a friend. This is why I like Hoovdawg.
