so...I have a new boss.
This is not an improvement.
The new boss is the woman I mentioned previously with whom I have a...rocky...working relationship.
We have completely different service approaches and completely different backgrounds. She was hired because she was more "project management" than systems, but the reality is that we still need a systems person. And she knows *nothing* about systems. This morning she asked me to produce all of the invoices and packing slips I could find for computer purchases in the last two years. Meanwhile, she's had the test server for our scheduling database in her office since my old boss left, and she hasn't fired it up once. She doesn't know windows 2000 (the operating system) she doesn't know the management side of the software, or how the server controls the clients, but she wants to run a major system upgrade in *october*...without having looked at the server *once*.
But packing slips for computers that are recorded at our finance office are somehow earth shatteringly important.
Meanwhile, I've been giving over parts of my old job to the new people doing them, and...at the moment...am doing the little tasks she assigns me. I'm 44 fucking years old with almost 30 years of work experience...and I have to say "Mother May I" every time I do something. Except she's so busy with meetings that I have nothing to do.
In the meantime, I applied for another position that was posted in my office, which I already know most of because I *wrote* half the job....and I was screened out because I don't have a degree. I've submitted a grievance...and told the registrar that I won't be training anyone else in those procedures as it isn't in my current job description to do so.
I'm also looking elsewhere, someone sent me a job opportunity that was kind of perfect, but I really didn't have my spoons together to get an appropriate resume banged out. Either way, a different job probably means moving.
I am so frustrated and beyond disgusted.
