Well, thanks to Lauren, my little g-baby, I was able to find an old entry from a year ago today. I found it to be very appropriate once again. I'm sure you'll all agree. Hope all is well with my dear friends!

First of all...I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed their time with their loved ones. I know that my family and I had fun together. I also hope that Santa visited each of you and left you a little something special. As I was sitting in Church during Christmas Mass...I was just staring at all the beautiful decorations and as I gazed at the lights..they blurred and I focused on all of you and what an impact you have all made in my life and how truly blessed I am to have such wonderful friends as all of you. So thank you...all of you!
Now that leads me to the topic of the day...It's John Anderson's birthday...YIPPEE!!! Everyone has to be happy today...because today is a chance to be thankful for having such a wonderful guy like John in our lives. In an email, John had jokingly told me about him and Jesus being one day apart and how cool that was...and I jokingly replied that because of their closeness in age, that is also why John also closely resembles Jesus. Well I started to seriously think about this and it makes a lot of sense. Think about it, if you have ever been around John for 5 minutes then you have experienced the warmth of God. John is such an amazing Catholic Christian guy who leads by example and serves the youth and diocese with such love. I can say this for myself, but I'm positive that everyone else can agree with me...all of our lives have been touched by John. We are different people because of the impact and impression he has left on our lives. Fortunately, some of us have been priveledged enough to work with John through Search more than others. And everytime we are all together..John always makes us laugh with his jokes, football stories, or by just being himself. And what a gift that is, to bring joy and happiness to those you encounter. And then, just as he can be funny, he can be serious and become the leader. There have been many people in my life who have tried to be my friend and the leader at the same time and they have failed because they lost the respect of others...but John, has proven that he is very capable of being just the leader and inspiration that Search needs. He relates so well to the youth, because he still is a teenager...but more importantly because he cares that much and he wants the best for all the Searchers and Team.
So you see...John does have many Christ-like qualities that we should all try to imitate. John serves with a self-less love..he is a servant leader..he wants the best for all...he has a very strong and evident faith...he is not afraid to proclaim the truth...he overcame a great struggle, and came out the victor...he has a great sense of humor(Jesus was funny too)...he has caused changes in the lives of others...he is the shepherd of a flock(Search director)...and so much more...In fact there is so much that we could say about John...but not enough time or space on this journal to say it. John, I'm sorry the Redskins couldn't pull out the victory for you tonight, but I'm glad to know you still had a great birthday!
