Ah. Noted. See, that's one of the little things that's hard for an American (even one who's an Anglophile) to pick up on.
As to the spelling... I've always had a bit of a dilemma with that. I try to get the British tone down as much as possible, wording-wise, but I've got it in my head that if I also tried to spell everything the British way, it would be insulting the intelligence of British readers, especially if I betray my American-ness in some other way (like gift/present). Is that a silly concern, or should I go ahead and write "grey" and "colour" and "favourite"?
