this weekend has been so fun but definitely not condusive to achieving my 4.0.
friday: panera night! anytime our house has money and no alternate plans (edit: when i first wrote this, i wrote bread instead of plans), we love to hit up panurrrra bread. this time we even found our own panera jon staple! we wanted to ask him the meaning of "panera" (my thought is that it means bread or something of the sort because i believe that "pan" is some sort of root word for bread). then we went to the gymnastics meet. the cheerleaders were throwing out t-shirts and if you don't know, i have a large love for oversized free t-shirts that i will never wear in everyday life. so imagine my excitement when i see a t-shirt hurtling through the air at my exact location. for a second, memorial coliseum turned silent. i reached my hand casually and grabbed the shirt while everyone else furiously jumping up and down and screaming trying their best to catch it...including the 5 million brownie scouts in the row directly behind. and just like that, reality sank in. i had stolen a t-shirt from a girl scout. oh i couldn't live with myself. i immediately turned around and it handed it to one of them. i felt good about being such a philanthropist but geez, little kids win everything from society!
saturday: it's ok though, because i am really a little kid at heart. after the game, cathleen and i spent literally 2 hours at target. i bought the cutest canopy with ribbons to hang over my bed and these little cute string light things. and they were on sale dang it. i don't care what you say miss guest service girl. if we hadn't been there 2 hours already and it hadn't been blizzarding outside, i might have thrown more of a fit. instead i just gve her my 2 cents with "the prices are really misleading". i came home to find kyra and jonathan over and later tracie and patrick came and we played yet another round of trivial pursuit, this time the 90's edition, my fave. and this my friends, provided my favorite moment of the whole weekend thus far:
kyra, reading the clue: what gay-rights group was known for saying "we're here, we're queer..."
me and laura, before she can finish: WE'RE GOING TO THE WHITE HOUSE!!!!!! we're here, we're queer, we're going to the white house!!!!"
*worried stares all around*
kyra: um no. we're here, we're queer, get used to it.
me and laura: *pure and utter shock* what????????
....needless to say, we thought for sure we had that one.
then after taboo we all just kinda lost it. jonathan walkin around with his palms on the ceiling and patrick trying to get laura to go make snow angels. kyra and tracie spent the night and now poorna's making us pancakes!
p.s. look at the hungry kitten! is that not the cutest thing of all time???
