I'm not dead yet

Yes. I am still alive. I've been offline for literally weeks. So much so, that when I tried to tab all the posts I'd missed, I have a gap. If you posted anything between July 6th and 9th, there is a chance I won't see it; the last post I'd seen was on the 6th, and LJ's only letting me tab back to the 9th... So if there's something important that you can think of that you might've posted those few days, please let me know.

Let's see. Big news around here, in the last month:

•There have two trips to the emergency room (Hubby and Daughter #2)

•I've been to more doctors than I can keep track of including having "procedures"

•We have acquired a new family member; a very sweet clearly abused rescue dog who came with the name Bucky, which we have "changed" to Buckminster Fuller Banzai Barnes (I was actually surprised when friends did not "get" his name, I guess I'm more of a nerd than I realized...?)

•We went to Con! San Diego ComicCon, that is. Hubby pronounced it, "worst Con ever." I don't completely agree, but there were major problems. I had an awesome John Barrowman moment, so I was happy (I'll write all about it soon on my rl blog if anyone is interested).

•Daughter Number One is off galavanting around Europe having a great time, and causing massive amounts of distress to her parents (mostly Hubby, who is not dealing well) and costing far more money then we can afford to be spending on her. (newest event in her saga: an ATM ate her bank card, we were up most of the night trying to figure out how to get money to her, and now she wants one of our credit card numbers so that she can call in advance to hostels; Hubby is ultra stressed).

•Daughter Number Two and I never did make our trip to the East Coast (we were supposed to be there right now) to look at colleges, but we are hoping to do a mini trip to San Francisco this week (driving up Wednesday, hanging in SF Thursday, coming home Friday) to look at SF State. If there's anyone reading this who knows anything about the school and would be around to give us a tour I'd be forever grateful...

•I've seen more movies than is probably good for me, and really want to see many more. I reminded Hubby last time he complained about it that we met at the movies because the two of us were so addicted to movies, that it really shouldn't be a surprise. We're trying to work on a compromise. I think he's not happy with me seeing Avengers six times, but since the last time I saw it, we had to leave before the end because the theatre was on fire, I have a coupon to see a movie for free, so when I see it the seventh time it won't count. And when I see Dark Knight Rises again on Tuesday it's also going to be free, so that doesn't count either...

That's all I can think of right now. I'd love to say I'm going to be better about being online, but I doubt that's true. I will promise not to leave it so long that there's a gap again. If I comment on a really old post, or don't comment on something you really thought I would, now you know why.

So, how's your summer? Any good stories I might've missed?

I miss you all!
