“When the death of a disabled infant will lead to the birth of another infant with better prospects of a happy life, the total amount of happiness will be greater if the disabled infant is killed. The loss of the happy life for the first infant is outweighed by the gain of a happier life for the second. Therefore, if the killing of the hemophiliac infant has no adverse effect on others it would . . . be right to kill him.”

"Very often it’s not wrong to kill a child once it’s left the womb. Simply killing an infant is never equivalent to killing a person.”
-Peter Singer
I hate to go all political on livejournal, but I actually don't even think this is really political...
its crazy. unethical. scary.
I do not, and will not ever understand how it ok to even say such a thing. I mean, I guess one can say things like this... but seriously? How do you arrive at this conclusion about human life? I guess the combination of having a baby, carrying the baby for 9 months, and having a huge heart/love for the disabled/special needs children of the world really makes these statements upsetting.
Oh by the way, this guy won't eat meat because its "inhumane." nice.
